Let the games begin...Kelowna welcomes the world, to lunch!

Kelowna 2011 Organizing Committee Chair, Heather Schneider, will officially welcome the City Delegations to the 5th International Children's Winter Games at the Welcome Luncheon, Wednesday January 26, at the Delta Grand Hotel.

 

Joining Chair Schneider at the Games kick-off luncheon will be City of Kelowna Mayor Sharon Shepherd and ICG President Torsten Rasch.

 

The special guest speaker is Fernie, BC native Emily Brydon, a 13 year member of the Canadian Women's Alpine Ski Team and nine time World Cup podium medallist.  Brydon also represented Canada at 3 Winter Olympics. 

 

Recently retired from competion, Brydon is an advocate of the international humanitarian organization, Right to Play, and the prime mover of the Emily Brydon Foundation which helps kids in need.

 

After the luncheon there will be a meet and greet in the Athletes Lounge where Emily will sign autographs, posters, and photo opportunities.
