Kelowna was pleased to host the 5th International Children’s Winter Games in January 2011. A Team of 69 athletes and 19 coaches participated in those winter games from Kelowna. In addition, teams from Lake Country, Westbank First Nation, Penticton, and West Kelowna also participates in the games. The legacy from the International Children’s Games lives on as a volunteer committee has been formed to organize and send youth and coaches to future International Children’s Games.
